DEAR WINTER GAMES FAMILY AND FRIENDS

We are pleased to invite you to the Special Olympics Ontario 2011 Winter Games that are being held in Thunder Bay.
We can only imagine the excitement that you are experiencing as you prepare for the upcoming games. We have over 300 athletes that have registered to compete in the various winter games sports. Included within the registration package are several requirements that will assist us in preparing to organize certain planned events during the games. We are asking you register with us by registering online at www.specialolympics2011games.com/registration.php. If you are not able to register online you can download the registration form to be filled out and retuned to our office with payment. Registration deadline is December 1, 2010. Arrangements have been made with specific hotels with special games pricing. These group rates on selected room types will remain in effect until December 10th, 2010. At that point they will be released for general reservations. We have also arranged for FREE bus shuttle transportation to and from the sport venues, appointed hotels (on the attached list) and activities planned during the games. You are required to make arrangements for transportation between the airport and your hotel. If you are intending to visit other parts of Thunder Bay we suggest you make arrangements for a rental vehicle. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Seating is limited so we will need to know if you plan to attend so that we may ensure we have a ticket for you. A dinner has been set for Friday, January 21, 2011 for the parents and supporters to come together to celebrate the successes of the athletes and enjoy some fellowship. This event will be held at the Fort William Historical Park from 7 pm to 10 pm. The cost is $10.00 per person, seats will be reserved on a first come, first serve bases.
